About UK Celtic Jewellery

UK Celtic Jewellery is an online shop for Celtic and Claddagh jewellery in sterling silver. The shop opens in December 2026. Until then, this site works as a guide to the symbols and the silver behind them.

Our idea is simple. A piece of jewellery means more when you know the story, so each design should come with a clear explanation. That is why our guides sit beside the shop.

How we write about symbols

Celtic symbols attract many tall tales. For example, some knots are said to be thousands of years old, although the earliest true knotwork dates from around the 7th century. We check each claim against a named source, and we list the sources on the page.

We also show our working. For example, people link the trinity knot to the Christian Trinity today, yet that reading became popular only in the 19th century. Because we say so, you can judge each claim for yourself.

When a story is only a legend, we say so. The tale of the Claddagh ring's inventor is a good case. We still tell it, because people enjoy it, but we label it as a legend. We believe you can enjoy a story and still know what is firm fact.

What we sell

Our range covers Celtic and Claddagh rings, pendants and crosses, earrings, bangles and cufflinks. Most pieces are sterling silver, which is 92.5% silver, and some add gold or gemstones. Each product page will state the metal, so you always know what you are buying.

Sterling silver suits everyday jewellery because it is strong and costs far less than gold. However, it needs a little care, since it tarnishes in damp air. That is why we wrote a care guide, and why we explain it before you buy.

We write the care and sizing advice ourselves. Our ring size guide and care guide are free to read, and you do not need to buy anything.
